The Albuquerque Cristo Rey High School Feasibility Study

The Corporate Internship Program (CIP) is a central component of the Cristo Rey model.  Because students come from low income families, paying full tuition would be prohibitive.  The solution to this dilemma is the work-study program:  groups of four students share full-time, entry-level positions at area businesses, and their salary goes to the school to keep tuition costs low.  By partnering with local business and non-profit organizations, Cristo Rey model schools provide access to a private education the students otherwise would not be able to achieve.
